Public health officials today declared a minor dead today from the Coronavirus in LA County.
Barbara Ferrer, Los Angeles County Public Health Director said, “Each loss we experience in LA County is tragic, and we are sending our heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones who’ve had to endure this tragedy,”
She went on to say, “COVID-19 does not discriminate by age, race, or income level, and what we are seeing in places like New York is indicative of what we should prepare to experience here.”
It is not yet confirmed if the victim had a pre-existing condition however, this tragic loss underscores the need for residents in Long Beach, LA County, and across California to take social distancing very seriously.
Public Health has now confirmed at least 662 cases acros LA County with 11 deaths.
