Individuals in LA County now have the ability to get testing for Coronavirus if they are displaying symptoms LA County officials announced. Symptoms of Covid-19 include fever, dry cough, and difficulty breathing.
Testing is available to all residents regardless of immigration or health insurance status.
There are now 29 testing sites across the county but residents have to make sure they book an appointment online here. In Long Beach, the testing center is located at Long Beach City College at 1305 E. Pacific Coast Hwy., Long Beach, CA 90806.
Covid-19 has now affected 11,391 people in Los Angeles County resulting in 495 deaths. There is no confirmed treatment for the novel Coronavirus however, some drugs such as remdesivir are showing promise with clinical trials underway.
It is currently estimated that a vaccine will be available to the general public in 2021. In the meantime, it has been strongly recommended to residents in California to stay at home as much as possible and practice social distancing until May 15th.
