Long Beach, CA
For any Los Angeles County resident including Long Beach residents who have interest in getting a Covid-19 test, now is your chance.
As of today there are now 24,894 people who have tested positive for the Coronavirus and 1209 deaths.
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti announced LA is the first major city in the nation to offer free testing by appointment only in a twitter post here:
On the website the verbiage reads:
“The City of Los Angeles, in partnership with the County of Los Angeles and CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort), is providing free COVID-19 testing to ALL Los Angeles County residents, whether or not you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.
Priority for the same or next day testing is still given to people with symptoms, such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills, muscle pain, headaches, sore throat, or a new loss of sense of smell.
Testing is also prioritized for certain critical front-line workers who interact with the public while working.”
Since the new testing was announced, over 10,000 people got tested on Thursday alone, the day after the announcement was made. Thousands more are expected to make the trip to their local testing site with at least 300,000 tests available.
