Scandal in Orange County, prosecutor fired for failing to turn over evidence

California – An internal investigation revealed that a former prosecutor of the year in California, who aspires to be a judge, had been withholding evidence in a murder case.

As a result of the investigation, Ebrahim Baytieh has been terminated from the Orange County district attorney’s office.

Following a Tuesday report, the Orange County Register reported that Baytieh no longer works for the office.

Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer said he hired an independent law firm to investigate whether a prosecutor failed to turn over evidence in the case of a man who was convicted of murdering his marijuana dealer in 1988.
