Bluff Park fire significantly damaged a home

Long Beach, California – A home in Bluff Park was significantly damaged due to a fire that started in a detached garage in the backyard, which was under construction at the time.

Fire crews responded to a report of smoke coming from the back of the home in the 2300 block of E. Second Street around 8:35 a.m.

According to LBFD spokesperson Jake Heflin, firefighters from the Long Beach Fire Department arrived at the scene four minutes after the report and were working to put out the fire.

The fire was extinguished at 8:54 a.m. and the last units left the scene an hour and a half later.

No one was injured in the fire.

The investigation into the fire is ongoing.
