Power outage and fire caused after car collided with electrical pole in Downtown Los Angeles

Los Angeles, California – A car that collided with an electrical pole in Downtown Los Angeles on Friday night caused a fire and a power outage that affected the whole neighborhood.

Residents in the area reported hearing explosions and seeing huge flames bursting from the electrical lines that were on the ground. At this moment, it is unclear what caused the car to crash into the pole near the intersection of Griffith Avenue and Washington Boulevard.

Part of the flames appeared to leap along the power wires and into a neighboring yard, where a bush was also on fire.

The car was significantly damaged as the electrical pole fell on the car’s roof and hood after the collision.
