Partially collapsed tube at Port of Long Beach injured three workers, two of whom were hospitalized
Long Beach, California – Three workers were injured on Sunday afternoon at the Port of Long Beach following an industrial accident.
According to Port of Long Beach officials, the accident occurred when a part of a tube that was used to carry petroleum coke from a storage ship to ships at storage F collapsed.
First responders were sent to the scene of the accident at approximately 4:35 p.m. The accident resulted in the injuries of three workers. One of the workers sustained minor injuries and received treatment at the scene, while the other two were taken to a hospital in stable condition.
Reportedly, the cloud of dust and smoke caused by the industrial accident was visible from downtown.
The investigation into what caused the collapse is still ongoing at this time.
