First case of monkeypox in a child reported in Long Beach

Long Beach, California – The first case of monkeypox in a kid has been reported in the city of Long Beach. This is reported to be just the second such case in the state of California and one of only a handful of cases reported nationally.

According to the health department of the city, the kid had symptoms but has since made a full recovery. The specific age of the child was not revealed.

There have been a total of 20 instances of monkeypox in Long Beach reported as either confirmed or probable.

According to the statement made by the Long Beach health department, “To date, no one has required hospitalization and all are either recovered or are isolating and recovering at home.”

The number of reported monkeypox cases in children stands at 4 nationwide.
