Woman gets a free sofa online, receives a startling award after returning what she found inside

A woman who got a free sofa off of Craigslist was surprised to see a bump in the cushion and assumed it was a heating pad someone had tucked in there because of back pain.

However, when the woman opened the cover, she was surprised to find twelve envelopes containing cash.

She exclaimed, “we’ve got to call the guy” to her son and promptly returned every dollar, saying that the thought had never crossed her mind to keep even a dollar of it.

According to multiple outlets who got in touch with the vendor of the sofa, they revealed that they were getting rid of the sofa along with a matching chair since a family member had just passed away.

The amount was $36,000, and the family thinks the deceased hid it away as part of a savings plan. They also think there could be additional cash hidden somewhere.

The woman, Vicky, was given $2,200 as a gift of gratitude for her good deed. She said the money will be used to purchase a new refrigerator.

“God has been kind to me and my children. They are all alive and well, I have three beautiful grandchildren, so what can I ever ask of God?” Vicky said.
