Assailants wanted in Torrance shooting and carjacking
Torrance, California – Police are looking for the suspects who opened fire in a parking lot outside the Del Amo Fashion Center in Torrance and wounded three people.
Officers were dispatched to the shopping area around 6:30 a.m. for a report of shots fired. According to the first report, the shooting occurred in the parking lot of a BJ’s restaurant.
Upon arrival at the shopping area, officers received another report, this time of a robbery and carjacking at the Dave & Busters restaurant on the mall’s south side. According to authorities, the assailants in the shooting outside BJ’s restaurant carjacked someone and fled the scene.
Authorities said the three wounded people were transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries and the carjacking victim remained unharmed.
“There were several suspects involved in this violent attack. The suspects and the victim’s vehicle are still outstanding. However, there is no specific threat to the community or public at this time,” police said in a statement.
The shooting is being investigated as a gang-related incident, according to authorities.
