Authorities still investigating a fatal shooting involving an officer in Huntington Park

Huntington Park, California – An officer-involved shooting in Huntington Park was still under investigation as of Sunday.

The shooting incident took place in the 6900 block of South Alameda Street on Saturday around 3:20 p.m. after officers were sent to the location in response to a report about a disturbance.

When they got to the scene, they saw a woman running after a man in his 30s while trying to stab him with a pair of scissors.

A shooting that included police officers took place when the cops made contact with the suspect. The female was fatally shot in the upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene. It was only said that the woman was 30-years-old.

The male victim received medical attention for a puncture wound that was not considered to be life-threatening.

No other injuries were reported.
