Man sentenced to 13 years in prison for sexual trafficking of minor and abduction
Long Beach, California – A Los Angeles man gets a 13-year prison sentence after being arrested last year on accusations of sexually trafficking a minor girl and abducting her baby.
According to Greg Risling of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, the 24-year-old, Antonio Lettmen, entered a no contest plea to trafficking a minor for a commercial sex act and child abduction.
According to Long Beach police, the Los Angeles resident was taken into custody in a car near his house on July 30, two days after officers responded to a report of a dispute in the neighborhood of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue and Hill Street and spoke with a girl who they believed was a victim of human trafficking.
After further investigation, officers determined that the suspect had abducted the teen’s baby kid without her knowledge. Police also noted that the teenager was reunited with her child on July 28.
When police searched Lettmen’s car and his apartment, they claimed they gathered evidence that pointed to the 17-year-old girl’s being a victim of human trafficking. According to prison records, Lettmen has been behind bars since his arrest.
