Man arrested in connection with armed robberies in Perris

Perris, California – A man in his 30s was arrested in Perris on Wednesday in connection with a string of armed robberies, according to a press release from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.

The robberies took place in different parts of the city over a period of two hours, beginning at 5:40 p.m. and ending at 7:36 p.m., respectively.

Robbery victims reported being approached by a man who brandished a gun, demanded money, and then left the area. A thorough search of the area was conducted, according to the announcement from the department.

Eventually, deputies were able to track down the suspect, who was later identified as Byron Maquiz of Perris, and took him into custody in the 600 block of Indian Hills Circle. Robbery, possession of a short-barreled weapon, and probation violations are just a few of the charges against Maquiz.
