Two arrests made in connection with a man’s shooting death in Long Beach several months ago
Long Beach, California – Two people have been arrested by Long Beach police in connection with a 48-year-old man’s shooting death that occurred in the College Park neighborhood.
Namely, a man and a woman are considered to have played a role in the incident.
Police records show that the 27-year-old Daven Trotter was arrested on Thursday morning at his apartment near Houghton Park on suspicion of murder, while the 26-year-old Geneece Swallowhorn was taken into custody on suspicion of one count of accessory to murder. Both of the suspects lived in the same apartment. Information about whether they were in a relationship was not made public.
Kacy Lloyd, 48, was pronounced dead at the scene after being shot while standing next to Trotter’s parked vehicle in the 6700 block of Harbor Avenue shortly before midnight on August 21. Trotter is suspected of being the shooter in this incident.
The reason for the shooting has not yet been determined by the investigators, although they have said that they believe it may have been gang-related.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, Trotter and Swallowhorn have remained in jail since their bail amounts were set at $2 million and $1 million, respectively.
According to the police, the findings of the investigation will be presented to the office of the district attorney for Los Angeles County for consideration of pressing charges.
