Family dogs killed a woman, injured a 6-year-old in home’s backyard

Los Angeles County, California – Authorities reported Wednesday that a woman was killed in the backyard of her house in a San Gabriel Valley community after her four dogs attacked her.

According to Sgt. V. Munshi of the Industry Sheriff’s Station, the attack happened at 5 p.m. Tuesday on Elizondo Street.

Munshi said the woman, who was in her 20s according to the coroner, was in the yard with her 6-year-old son. Both were bitten and transported to the hospital, where the woman died.

The boy was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The Los Angeles County Department of Animal Control took the dogs.

The woman allegedly forgot her key but no one was inside the house in the 18000 block of Elizondo Street, and she tried to get into the house through a backyard window. According to reports, the woman’s head and one arm were severely injured.
