One hospitalized, four died of drug overdosing within one hour in Anaheim
Anaheim, California – Four people died in Anaheim on Monday of apparent drug overdosing.
According to Anaheim Police Department Sgt, Shane Carringer, the first report was about a dead woman in a motel room in the 800 block of South Beach Boulevard, between Orange Avenue and Ball Road.
Carringer said the second report was regarding a man discovered dead in a car near Anaheim Stadium in the 1700 block of South State College Boulevard.
After the first two reports, police were summoned at 12:48 p.m. in the 500 block of South Anaheim Boulevard, three blocks south of Anaheim City Hall.
Upon the arrival of the officers, they found three men at the location. Two of them died at the scene, while the third one was given a medicine that helps people recover from drug overdosing.
According to Carringer, the individual who survived was brought to the hospital and is in critical condition.
Based on the sort of drug paraphernalia found at the crime scenes, Carringer believes these were drug overdoses. Investigators were trying to figure out if it was a case of illicit Fentanyl, which may occasionally be sold on the street in high enough concentrations to kill people who take it.
