LBFD and Southern California Edison crews responded to a fire that broke out in an industrial area
Long Beach, California – A fire that broke out at a one-story commercial structure in West Long Beach early on Saturday morning prompted a second alarm, and firefighters were able to put out the flames.
A fire was reported in the 1500 block of Cowles Avenue at about 11 a.m. This is an industrial area with many commercial buildings.
According to fire authorities, when firefighters got on the scene, they saw large flames coming from the rear of a one-story business building and one of its garage spaces.
Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire within minutes. However, the flames still caused damage to power lines, which prompted the response of Southern California Edison crews in order to restore service to all customers affected by the outage.
