Man dies in brutal assault at South County San Diego restaurant

A heinous attack at a vibrant eatery in South County San Diego has plunged the community into shock and mourning after a man, identified as 59-year-old Jose Perez-Fong, was mercilessly beaten by an unknown assailant.

The tragic incident took place on April 15, at the Papagayos Grill & Cantina in Chula Vista, where Perez-Fong had gone to celebrate a recent promotion with his friends. The assault occurred on the dance floor, amid the bustling atmosphere of the popular restaurant, leaving the victim with several skull fractures and brain bleeds.

Despite undergoing extensive treatment at a nearby hospital and receiving care in an intensive care unit, Perez-Fong passed away on Friday, April 21, leaving his family and friends grief-stricken.

While the police have launched a manhunt for the suspect, who remains at large, the investigation has so far been fruitless, and no motives for the brutal attack have yet been established, according to Dallas Press News.
