A woman was fatally shot on December 26, prompting Long Beach police to investigate.
Long Beach police responded to a report of a gunshot heard and found an unresponsive adult woman with an apparent gunshot wound at the scene. According to authorities, the woman was sitting in a vehicle parked on the street.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS crews.
Guadalupe Ruiz, 34, was identified as the victim by the coroner’s office, and investigators believe she was homeless.
Long Beach Police Department homicide detectives were also sent to the crime scene to try to determine a motive.
