Los Angeles, California – A body was discovered near Venice Beach over the weekend, prompting authorities to conduct an investigation.
The body was discovered close to Lifeguard Tower 28 near the Santa Monica-Venice border on Sunday morning.
Lieutenant Rudy Flores of the Santa Monica Police Department stated that a corpse had been found, but didn’t reveal any more details about the event except that the investigation was being handled by the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.
The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department has not responded to an email requesting additional information.
According to bystanders, the victim was “a man in a wetsuit.” This information has not been confirmed by the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department or the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner.
