National Weather Service issued flood watch for parts of Los Angeles County
Los Angeles County, California – The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for portions of Los Angeles County beginning at noon on Tuesday.
Flood watches are in effect through Tuesday evening for the mountain and desert areas of Los Angeles County.
There is a risk of flooding in the areas of Lancaster, Palmdale, Mount Wilson, Lockwood Valley, San Rafael Mountain, Big Pine Mountain, Mount Pinos, Figeurora Mountain, and Acton as a result of the heavy rainfall.
The accumulation of excessive amounts of rain can lead to flooding in waterways such as rivers, streams, creeks, and other low-lying areas that are prone to flooding. Mud and debris flooding is also a possibility in and near recently burned regions.
