Victim sought treatment at a hospital after being shot in an incident where two men who took his phone

Long Beach, California – A man sustained a gunshot wound while riding his bike in the early morning hours of Monday, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

According to a statement released by authorities, officers rushed to a local hospital at around 1:41 a.m. after being notified about a gunshot victim who had arrived at the hospital.

The man informed the police that he was riding his bike near the intersection of Long Beach Boulevard and Artesia Boulevard when a vehicle drove up next to him. According to the victim, two men exited the vehicle, grabbed his cellphone, and then an argument began, which ultimately resulted in the shooting.

The victim made his own way to the hospital following the shooting in which he sustained a single wound to the lower torso. His injuries were said to be non-life-threatening.

Additional information was not released.

The suspects are yet to be identified as the investigation is ongoing.
