Authorities investigating shooting incident that left two men wounded

Long Beach, California – Two men were wounded on Friday night while walking near a post office in North Long Beach.

The Long Beach Police Department was notified of the incident at 10:26 p.m. and went to the 100 block of East Louise Street, where they discovered bullet casings and vehicles that had been damaged by gunfire, but no victims had been located at the scene.

After that, police found out that two male victims were at a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries sustained in the shooting. One of the victims was transported to the hospital by the Long Beach fire crews, and the other took himself to the hospital.

After an inquiry, Fahey said, it was discovered that the two victims were going along East Louise Street, near Cedar Avenue, when group of people approached them and opened fire, injuring both in the lower body.

No information about the suspects is available at this time since they left the area before police arrived. Investigators are still working to determine the motive for the shooting.

The investigation remains open.
