Man fatally struck in hit-and-run accident on 60 freeway off-ramp

South El Monte, California – A call about a man lying unresponsive on the road near the Rosemead Boulevard off-ramp of the 60 freeway on Saturday drew officers from the California Highway Patrol to the scene.

As soon as they got on the site, deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Temple Station informed them that the victim seemed to be a pedestrian who had been fatally struck by a hit-and-run vehicle.

Police will not release the name of the man who was killed until his next of kin is notified.

The accident remains under investigation.
