Californians urged to apply for rent relief programs

Los Angeles, California – Members of the California State Assembly and members of the Los Angeles City Council held a news conference on Friday to encourage citizens of the state to submit applications for rent relief programs before the deadline expires on March 31.

People who live in Los Angeles and have problems paying their rent or utility bills because of COVID-19 can get help with rent. People who make less than 80% of the area’s average income can get help.

Every individual who makes less than $66,250, which is the average income in LA, is eligible for the rent relief program, as well as a family of four that earns less than $94,600.
