Teen and woman arrested for killing woman’s three minor children on Mother’s Day

Los Angeles, California – LAPD announced they had made two arrests in connection with the homicides of three children on Mother’s Day on Sunday.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 22500 block of Victory Boulevard in West Hills in the morning hours of Sunday regarding a report of an attack with a deadly weapon.

When the police arrived, they found three victims: a 12-year-old girl and two 8-year-old twin boys.

The officers identified the mother of the children as a person of interest, detained her, and took her to a police station for questioning in order to figure out what happened.

The mother, 38-year-old Angela Flores, told officers at the police station she murdered her children with the help of a 16-year-old teenager. She was booked on three counts of murder, and bail of $6 million was put up.

The 16-year-old teenager was tracked down and arrested as well. The teenager was booked at Sylmar Juvenile Hall without bail. Their identity was not revealed.

An initial investigation showed that Flores was screaming and acting strangely outside of her home the day before the bodies of the children were discovered. She was taken by ambulance to a hospital for mental health problems on Saturday, but was released the next morning.

Authorities did not reveal details or circumstances surrounding the murder.

The investigation is ongoing.
