Long Beach police investigating apparent drowning incident at El Dorado Parks

Long Beach, California – According to the Long Beach Fire Department, an elderly person was said to have died following what seemed to be a drowning incident on Monday in one of the lakes at El Dorado Parks.

According to LBFD spokesman Capt. Jack Crabtree, several witnesses reported seeing the man diving into the water and did not come out at approximately 5 p.m.

Multiple units, including LBFD firefighters, a LBFD dive team, and marine safety crews, were sent in response to the report. The man was brought to the shore of the lake by the dive team from the Long Beach Fire Department, where it was determined he had died.

The identity of the man has not been made public at this time. It is unclear why the man went into the lake.

The Long Beach Police Department is in charge of the investigation into this matter.
