Man arrested in a shooting that sent a teenager to hospital
Long Beach, California – Officers from the Long Beach Police Department were sent to the 900 block of Raymond Avenue around 3:56 a.m. on Sunday to investigate a report of a shooting.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 15-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to the lower body that appeared to be non-life-threatening.
The victim told officers he was involved in an altercation with a man in the area, and at one point, the man pulled a gun, shot the victim and left the scene on foot. Authorities said that evidence collected at the scene showed a shooting had taken place.
The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of his injuries, sustained in the shooting.
A suspect was arrested in connection to the shooting.
The motive for the shooting has yet to be determined by authorities.
The investigation remains ongoing.
