Long Beach police investigating a stabbing incident that sent a woman to the hospital
Long Beach, California – Long Beach police are searching for a suspect in connection with the stabbing of a woman in West Long Beach on Wednesday evening.
The stabbing incident occurred at 6:25 p.m. in the neighborhood of Pacific Coast Highway and Hayes Avenue. Upon the arrival of the officers, they found a woman suffering from stab wounds in her lower body.
While waiting for the Long Beach Fire Department to arrive, responding officers provided first aid to the victim. She was later taken for treatment at a nearby hospital. Her injuries were said to be non-life-threatening and she is expected to recover soon.
The victim got engaged in a fight with a female acquaintance near the vicinity of Anaheim and I Streets. According to Long Beach police, she was stabbed after the altercation between the two escalated.
No arrests have been made yet.
The investigation remains ongoing.
