Bicyclist who died following a crash in Long Beach identified
Long Beach, California – Officers were sent to the area of Anaheim Street and Coronado Avenue on May 21 at approximately 12:15 in the morning, in response to a report of a crash between a car and a bike in which an adult man eventually died.
The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office said the name of the Long Beach bicyclist who lost his life following the crash is Gabriel Falcon, 32.
The initial investigation showed Falcon, who was riding his bicycle eastbound in the westbound lanes on Anaheim Street, was struck by a 2009 Toyota Corolla headed westbound on Anaheim Street.
Upon the arrival of the officers, they found Falcon lying unconscious on the road. He was declared dead at the scene by paramedics. The motorist remained at the scene and was cooperative in the investigation.
Driving while distracted, drunk driving, or going too fast were not considered to be factors in the crash.
