One person killed in a fiery multi-vehicle collision in Long Beach

Long Beach, California – A fiery multi-vehicle collision that occurred on Thursday in Long Beach and included a tractor-trailer claimed the life of one person.

At about 3:02 a.m., California Highway Patrol officers were dispatched to the scene of the collision at the North Long Beach Boulevard off ramp and the southbound Long Beach (710) Freeway.

When responding officers got to the scene, they saw three cars. One of them was on fire, and one person was stuck inside.

The vehicle caught on fire after colliding with the tractor-trailer, according to authorities.

The death of the person who was trapped inside the vehicle was confirmed by medical personnel.

The accident led to the closure of all lanes of the highway for several hours.

The cause of the crash has yet to be determined.
