Eight cited and two vehicles towed after Long Beach police responded to three separate street takeovers

Long Beach, California – Eight were cited and two vehicles were towed after Long Beach police responded to three different street takeover events on Friday night in East and North Long Beach.

The first takeover activity took place near Cal State Long Beach at the intersection of Bellflower Boulevard and Stearns Street at 10:54 p.m.

According to the Long Beach Department, police arrived near Belmont Shore in the vicinity of Grand Avenue and Second Street about half an hour later for the second street takeover, and half an hour after the second takeover, they were sent to a third takeover activity on Paramount Boulevard and South Street in North Long Beach.

Street takeovers occur when a large number of vehicles, often hundreds, gather at a predetermined location where drivers perform stunts in the vehicles.
