Man suffers non-life-threatening injuries after being shot while attempting to disarm a man
Long Beach, California – The incident that occurred early on Wednesday morning is being investigated by the Long Beach police department after a man said that he was injured while attempting to disarm another man.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, officers were called to Fire Station 7, located in the 2200 block of Elm Avenue, shortly after 3 a.m. when a man arrived there suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso.
The victim told police that while he was walking near Veterans Park, a man came up to him and pulled out a gun.
The victim was trying to disarm the man, but as he struggled, the man opened fire, striking the victim in the upper torso, and fled the scene. The victim was transported to the fire station by a passerby.
EMS crews then transported the man to a hospital for treatment of what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.
The motive for this incident remains unknown and police are still looking for a suspect. The authorities were unable to locate a crime scene.
