Long Beach, California – After a long search off the shore of Huntington Beach, the corpse of a 65-year-old Long Beach diver was retrieved from the ocean on Sunday night.
An intensive search including the United States Coast Guard, the Long Beach Fire Department, and the Orange County Sheriff’s Department was launched around 10 a.m. Sunday, after the report of the missing recreational diver.
After using sonar and other high-tech equipment to find the man’s corpse, crews were able to recover his body by Sunday evening, according to reports.
The diver was identified as 65-year-old Long Beach resident, Theodore Watler.
The cause of the death is still under investigation.
